I was pleasantly surprised by Stacks. While it looks like a glorified IHOP, and the menu certainly reads that way, I actually had a pleasant and tasty meal here. I got the portobello chicken crepe and it was good - stuffed with mushrooms, grilled chicken (slightly dry), mozzarella, and topped with pesto. Filling but not overly so, and the ingredients tasted pretty fresh. I got a side salad and fruit, which was varying levels of ripe.
For two around noon on a Sunday, we waited about 20 minutes. They have a big vat of coffee while you wait and the weather was nice. Service was fine. All in all, probably 3.5 stars, but I'll round up. -

The name Stacks is pretty spot on if it's referring to the stacks on stacks of cash they're charging folks for below average breakfast food. The ambiance is pretty nice and it's in a competitive area downtown so we ignored all the subpar reviews and decided to try it out. We ended up with a $50 bill for two dishes, coffee, OJ, and a side of remorse for not picking any of the other 3 stellar brunch places all within walking distance.
The French Toast had very little egg or vanilla batter, and my girlfriend's Frittata was paper thin and had very little sausage. Stacks potatoes are like hash browns but looser and less crispy, and lacked any sort of seasoning or flavor. It's had to give any higher than 2 stars when maple syrup and ketchup were the only things getting you through the meal. However, unlike other reviewers, I didn't think service was rude or slow.
All in all, don't be fooled by appearances and only come here if you have stacks of money to burn on eggs or pancakes. Do a quick search, as there are a bunch of other great options that are equally delicious and affordable in the same downtown area. Definitely a one and done for me! -

I love this place.
The pancakes are the best I have ever had. Worth the carbs/calories or whatever you watch. Delicious. Order a short stack no matter what else you order.
The egg dishes are always on point and deliver generous portions. They are very flexible with special orders like "egg whites only" and "no potatoes...fruit substitute."
Everyone I host there has loved it. The service is excellent. They will give two people a booth if they are not full.
Don't forget to order the pancakes... -

We had a yummy breakfast here!!! Everything was good! Real maple syrup too. Fresh squeezed OJ. Best pancakes I have ever had. Banana coconut macadamia nut pancake. The ice tea was a tropical blend.

Came here on a weekday at 11AM, and this place was popping! (but no wait!) They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Since a lot of the smaller tables were already taken, my boyfriend and I were seated at a table for 6. No complaints there.
He got the Hot Link Omelette while I got the South of the Border (I subbed the chorizo for extra veg). I've got to say that for the price you pay, you're getting a good amount of food. My South of the Border was delicious - stuffed with eggs, vegetables, wrapped in tortilla and topped with a plentiful amount of salsa, sour cream, a little bit of guac, some cheese - it was good! Would get it again. The shredded potatoes were also yummy, but I've definitely had better - would've preferred it more crisp.
